DWH is gearing up for expansion, and with that comes a big move: we’ll be relocating our Philippine office in just a couple of weeks. The relocation project has kept us busy. We’ve secured two floors of a building just across the street from our current office. Renovation crews have been hard at work, and from the snapshots we took back in December 2006, you can already see the major civil works taking shape.
This time around, we’re building a hybrid network. Think of it as a blend of the best of both worlds: wireless (WiFi) paired with the tried-and-true wired setup (10/100/1000BaseT).
Of course, designing this environment wasn’t without its challenges. We needed something scalable, reliable, fast, and secure, while also being cost-effective. The wireless component added another layer of challenge, as we had to carefully weigh performance concerns and security risks before finalizing the design.
If everything goes according to plan, we’ll be fully relocated by the second week of February. That means the clock is ticking to get the data center, network, telephony, and security systems humming smoothly. No room for hiccups. Wish us luck.
