A few years ago, I made the rookie mistake of forgetting to renew my domain. Someone else grabbed it faster than you can say “auto-renew,” and I thought I’d kissed all my blog content goodbye. I had no backups, no safety net, just me staring into the abyss of my own negligence.
Fortunately, the story doesn’t end there. I managed to buy the domain back, and with a bit of help from the Wayback Machine (the internet’s version of a time machine for scatterbrained bloggers), I was able to rescue cached versions of my old posts.
So here I am, slowly rebuilding the site and picking up where I left off, this time with a calendar reminder set for domain renewal.
Stay tuned. The comeback is underway, and yes, lesson learned.
